Forgive my lack of chitter chatter.....I made one huge post here......and I could only link it once.

Lets get Sketchy BH1 Melinda

Silly me putallof my layouts in one post and it won't let me link to the same post.....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! So.....here is BH1Melinda...
her twist was to add stitching....
fake stitching,,,,,
You can read my lengthy post here if your interested....I'm too tired of typing to go thru the story of my layouts again.....lol

A great big buncha LGS Blog Hop Challenge pages.

Whewwwwwwww!! I can't believe I actually done most, if not all of these!!! I have scrapped my poor little fingers to nothing but inky little nubs :)
\
In case you are wondering what I am babbling about (which I am sure if nothing unusual) Let's Get Sketchy is celebrating turning 2 this month with lots of fun challenges, Blog hops, giveaways and lots and lots of fun and inspiration!!! I always enjoy their challenges and try to play when I have the time. But lately life has been really chaotic and I haven't beeen able to scrap as much as I would like. So I sat down last night and today (beats the heck out of housework!!!) and knocked these out. GO ME!!! I'm not like my bloggy friend Julie-Tucker-Woleck, who can sit and do like 3000 layouts in a weekend. It can take me DAYS just to find my stuff!! I at least have it all centrally located now, its just in several boxes and 2 gallon zip-loc bags with no rhyme or reason to my storage organization.  The Fly-Lady would fly right on out of my house pulling her hair out and I'm sure Mary Poppins would utter several four letter words if she saw my mess. And let's just say "Golly" is not on that word list.......ahem :)

I'm slightly confused (Surprise!!!) about some these challenges because some had the same sketch but may have added a twist. I didn't do one for the sketch and one for the twist......sorry! So I will post these and link em up and hope I don't screw it up along the way!

You will have to look over me, I'm scrap/slap happy......I think the glue gave me a buzz!

Ok......ready or not hereeeeeee we go!!!!!

First I have BH1 Carol and this sketch.
There was a twist added to this one by Brenshevia (BH1Brenshevia) to use four of the follow colors: Kraft, Black, Pink, Blue and Red.

I did manage to work them both together but my take on the sketch is wayyyyyyyy out in left field. (it happens sometimes....lol)

This is my son Jacob with A girl he dated a year or so back. I can't keep track anymore, he dumps them before I can scrap them.....lol. I love the photo tho!
So my base is kraft and the cut out words are backed with some tone on tone black patterned paper from Crate Paper Restoration. Actually, all of the papers are from that line. The papers have blue and pink in the pattern. I added a Crate Paper jeweled bobby pin and flowers from American Crafts, Wood veneer I won and it was part of a Cocoa Daisy kit. The "love tag" is from MME and the beaded butterfly was a gift from a friend. Love how this one turned out!

Next!!
This Sketch on Melinda's Blog (she turned hers into a card and its amazing!! I never considered that!!)
BH1Melinda
And my take....
Pardon the crappy cropping!

We have had LOTS of snow here this winter which is WEIRD for our area!! I found the snowflake photo on facebook and loaded it to instagram. I decided it would be perfect for a layout :)   I think the twist here was to add stitching, I faked it with a white pen but its barely noticable....kraft seems to ust suck white up like a sponge.

See?

Next.......this sketch on  Michelle's blog......twist use bling. I blinged it to death!!! lol
BH1Michelle
The same sketch on Jaqui's blog with the twist to use 2 of the following...distressed edges, masking, inking, stamping, layering, border punches, flowers or doodling.
(BH1Jaqui)
I have the bling, flowers and lots of layering.

All of this is American Crafts, from "My Girl" and another one I can't remember at the moment :( The "family and Love" are Thickers, as are the hearts....I'm not sure where on earth the bling came from.....Flowers, AC, And I added a Project Life card....just cuzi recently won them and wanted to use it....lol. OH!! The lil butterfly  and arrow is Heidi Swapp!!

The photo is of my cousin's girls, Beth and Nevaeh....so sweet!! :)

NEXT!!!
(this is like the post that will never end ain't it? lol)

This sketch from Wendi's blog  with the twist to use and older, hoarded collection from Melissa's Blog  Easy....I got bunches of those!!!
(BH1Wendi and BH1 Melissa)
I loved this sketch and one of my favorite lines is Echo Park. So I used About A Boy. And the Boy I scrapped is my now 13yr old Brandon when he was 2......I miss those days!!! :)
Again, its a little different but the inspiration is noticeable I think! After all of the girly stuff I scrapped today I was dying to do a nice grungy, messy boy layout! I painted over the wood background paper and let some of it peek thru...it looks way cooler in person! I splattered a bit and this is one of absolute fave layouts! AC thickers and  AC remarks and an AC flair bit round out the layout.....lots of fun to do this one!!!!

Ok....last one I PROMISE!!!! I know I'm killin ya :)

This one is from Chelsea's blog with her added twist to use a paper clip of some sort..
(BH1Chelsea)
I decided to scrap my cousin Tonya, she is going to be soooo surprised!!! I steal photos of her kids from facebook all the time. I saw this one of her and fell in love with her. She is such a sweet person despite being related to me.....lol.  For this one I stuck pretty close to the original sketch.
Everything here is AC as well except for the cluster of Project Life cards and the sheet of blue vellum I have had since the dawn of scrapobooking.. Even tho this one is a pretty feminine layout I really love it because the soft colors go so well with the black and white photo. The paper clip is the heart shaped "love" at the top corner of her photo.

Thats it!! Aren't you glad? lol. I'm hoping I got em all but if not I will do better next time....I hall not be defeated!!!!! So much fun even if I didn't get linked ti;l the last minute!!!!!!

If you are still here, thanks for visiting :)

Have a great weekend!!!

Destashing some Crate Paper

Happy Sunday my friends!

I'm a little sad today because I had so hoped I was going to be able to share tons of pix taken with my cousin and out visit today, I woke up this morning to a text saying they were heading back home early because we were having some storms and things can get scary when it storms in the mountains. So maybe next time :(  Luckily they love this area and go to the mountains several times a year....so I will see her before the year is out!!! The important thing is they made it back home to Ohio safe and sound!!

I stayed up late last night and did a little scrapping with some Crate  Paper goodies I dug out. They are having a Boy's Rule challenge right now and I really would love that collection!! But I am on a self imposed shopping ban. Yes it's killing me.....lol. SO many great boy collections out there right now that I can't wait to get my hands on and this one is at the absolute top of the list! I dug and dug and came up with bits from Restoration, Toy Box, and School Spirit and tossed it all together.  And I even came across 2 cans of Crate Barrel letters that I had forgotten I even had! My letters were all different colors and didn't match the layout at all so I simply painted them white.

Most of you know I have an adult son with Autism. I rarely scrap him because he is so hard to get a photo of.Typically he doesn't like to be touched or make eye contact. If there is a flash involved he freaks out and he has no patience for me telling him, "Hang on....one more pic!!" But I got really lucky with this photo and a great moment on camera of him and Jesse (my youngest) actually hugging! And Matt is smiling!!!! I think it lasted about 2 seconds.....lol. I'm fast on the draw with my camera.....lol.

I laid this out and arranged and rearranged a billion times and finally decided I didn't like the plain dark Bazzill Cardstock background and flicked whit paint all over it to grunge it up a bit. And again I am layering and layering cuz it helps me destash and I love it.....lol.

This layout has a lot of dimension that you can't see from this angle, so.....
Typically I use foam squares. But I really had so few letters left and  LOTS of periods and odd stuff I will never use, so I used them under my layers to lift them up. I do this sometimes with leftover foam Thickers and stickers I want to pop up....works great!
The journaling is a quote I found but really have no clue who to credit it to. But I felt it was perfect because Matthew is non-verbal. He can't even communicate with sign language.
It reads "love doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be true"  And even tho Matthew can't express his love we feel it, and hopefully he feels ours as well. From the looks of the their faces in the photo I'd say he does :)

Besties :)

Happy Wednesday!!! We are at the halfway point of the week and it's all down hill towards the weekend! And I am super excited because My cousin Tonya and her family are coming down from Ohio to vacation in Gatlinburg and we are hoping to meet up!!We have not seen each other since we were kids and some of you will remember that I found her via Facebook a couple of years ago.  I'm really looking forward to meeting her and her family and getting to see sweet little Nevaeh, who will soon be 3 years old!!! Look at what a doll she is!!!
Her older sister beth is A beauty as well...she is just 14.......you can bet Daddy keeps tabs on her....lol.
I swear she could model! This was taken prior to her first formal dance at school :) I'm so excited I found these pix too....new girly things to scrap....LOL.

So between now and the weekend I'm getting together every layout I ever did and putting them in an album and giving them to her. I have to admit it hurts a bit......lol. Giving away layouts is almost like giving one of my children away. Except at the moment that doesn't seem like a bad idea......lol. More on that another day......let's just say that there has NOT been a dull/quiet moment in my house since last Friday.......I may just jump in the trunk and ride back to Ohio with them.....lol.

I have just one layout to share today but lots of places to link it up! And I really went out of my comfort zone by doing a semi clean layout with "gulp" white space!!! I'm a piler, so you ahve no idea the restraint it takes for me to do these kinds of layouts!!!

I found this sketch at Scrap365 and I  was intrigued by all of the layering.and by the fact that I could , again, use up some scraps!!! Yayyyyyy!!!
And I used LOTS of things in my stash that otherwise would have either went into the trash or just sat forever in my stash because I really couldn't use it.  The photo is my 16 yr old Steven and his Best friend Michelle. Noooo they aren't dating......lol.   They truly are besties :) he is the only of my boys that is mature enough to handle an actually friendship with a girl I think.....lol. She is a year aheade but the are both in NJROTC together and on the drill team and color guard. She's adorable and very sweet!!! And I'm gifting her this layout because she saw me post it to instagram and loved it. I told her I would frame it and give it to her :)
As I said, lots of stash busting here. I placed these random whit thickers down first and then built my layout on top of it. Kinda a cool thing to do when you don't have the letters to make an actual word.....lol. I will be doing this more cuz I really kinda dig it :) Then I literally pulled out a hand full of scraps and just layered them til I liked it and then stapled in the center. (Papers are from Echo Park and MME.) I added foam squares and sat atop the thickers, matted my photo with the packaging from heidi Swapp's little arrow bits I used, and again added foam squares to that. I'm not sure where the cloud came from but its felt and I added pebbles butterflies and American Craft bling bits. The pennant at the top is the border from Pink Paislee's Hey Kid collection and the tiny type also from Pebbles. I love, love, love how this came about and it is not my typical style at all. I do love clustering and layering but I never leave this much white space. I'm so proud......lol.
The hexagon paper is my fave! Or should I say Moxie Fab? Perfect for their "Happy With Hexagons" Challenge!  Also with all of the colors (I love color!!) I'm linking to Paper Issues and their "Color By Numbers" issue
Lots of layering and 3d elements for Quirky Crafts "Layer Pile and 3D" Challenge. And nothing really says "Spring" like some bright and fun color and butterflies for Lil Red Wagon's "Yearning For Spring"
Also linking up at the following awesome challenges or link parties, please pay them a visit and say hello! You might find some inspiration and a new blog to follow :)

and last  but not least

I'm hoping to get some crafty completed today but we will see......I made my kids clean their rooms last night and I have a ton of laundry that has appeared out of nowhere.  Maybe I can scrap between loads and fit in a couple more of the February challenges before they end Friday!!

Hope you are having a great day and thank you for dropping by and saying hello!!!
Hugs!
